endings/beginnings...

I posted to flickr, the last of the pics that had anything to do with my dad's passing. Time to move on. When my mom saw her eye doctor yesterday (a very caring woman), and told her about my dad, the Dr. said she preferred to refer to death as transition, because she felt we never simply disappear, that our energy just changes. I think that was comfort to my mom...I know it was to me (I needed the reminder, anyway).

So...today...I bought a used enlarger which will accommodate large format negatives. Not only that, there was a plethora of other darkroom equipment in with the bargain...I'll be set for a while I think. Hence, "beginnings" in my post title. It's always scary for me, when I get to this point of finding that moving forward is imperative. Whether I'm afraid of failure, or success, or maybe just change, I don't know. I'm always one for making use of my purchases, however, so there's no turning back!!

It's a beautiful, almost summer-like day. It feels very good. Caspar and I will be heading out for our walk now I think...
