It's been a weird winter. There was the unusual, early December storm that gave Richmond over 10 inches of snow, a relatively seasonal Christmas (no precip), then some intense cold, then a warm up into the 70F range, and now just cold, cold rain. I would love more snow. The dim days and cold rain are getting a little old, so some bright white snow would help. At the same time, I'm at the point where I just don't attach too strongly to one kind of weather or another. This is beyond my control...well, obviously!
The signs of spring are emerging, though. There are swelling buds, some bulbs starting to bloom, and the hellebores out back are coming into flower. I love these blooms, with their dark purple color and detailed structure. They are a very sweet, somewhat old fashioned flower.
Being that I was heading into VisArts to monitor the darkroom yesterday, and since I had created no physical, photographic work for a while, I figured I'd make use of the UV box. The hellebores lend themselves well to lumen prints. Oh, and there's a pinhole of one of these blooms too...
