Since I've tapered of the SSRI I was taking, my experiences of insomnia has ramped up. Difference now might be that I'm just going with it and taking care of myself however I can. It's not like my sleep was perfect when on medication either and my body feels better now overall.
All that being said, I went to bed early-ish and actually fell asleep quite easily. At some point I woke up, like I usually do (it's a rare night when I sleep straight through) feeling oddly refreshed. I thought it must be around 4am. Well, it was more like 1:45am! After checking weather and emails, I tried to settle back in to sleep, but it was a no go. Around 4:30 I decided to get up, showered and dressed so I could take a walk down to the river for sunrise.
It was actually quite lovely out. Humid (and foggy), yes, but cool. The sounds of all the birds, insects and frogs kept me company as I walked the streets (noticing how many lights people leave on in their houses overnight!!). I was like, "yeah, I should get out for sunrise more often."
Lomo Instant in hand, this is what I saw...
