Learning to be there
To forgive my transgressions...poor judgement, naive unwise choices, distraction, lack of presence. Oh, the trouble I've made for myself. The resulting regret and shame rear up at times and I say, "c'mon, you're only human...why hold yourself to standards you'd not hold others?...why not give yourself the same compassion?"
To offer comfort...heartache, fear, loneliness and I say, "you're more connected than you know...more blessed than you realize...hold the love and good wishes close."
To bolster my spirits...self doubt, inability to focus, failures both internal and external and I say, "all creative people feel like this, it'll pass....try to not hold everything at once...failures are simply learning experiences."
Deep breaths, time spent with the plants, fixing good food, finding that spark that may currently be dimmed...
