It's a lovely, bright, post Thanksgiving morning. It rained a bit during the night, so the colors that remain outside are saturated and rich. The temperature isn't terribly cold, but it's not going to get warm today...I like that. The house is quiet, with a subtle glow from the sunlight creeping in (at ever increasing low angles).
I'm thankful to be here, to be in this space that's safe and nurturing. How fortunate. I'm thankful for new friends and old and neighbors who invite me to Thanksgiving dinner. I'm thankful for a healthy, happy family who may be physically distant, but remain connected in spirit. The list goes on. And while it's frustrating to still feel strands of grief and confusion, just under the surface of this blessed existence, the older I get the more I realize that's simply the human experience. Every moment offers promise...every day potential.
