Of course, wouldn't you know, about the time I finally get enthusiastic about shooting film again, the cost has gotten rather unpleasant. I mean, if a year ago I would have had the foresight to stockpile some rolls, I'd feel better. But alas, it is what it is. Here's another funny thing...expired film seems to be even more expensive than fresh. It's kind of weird.
Does this mean I'll stop using film? No. There are still applications where it feels superior to me (than digital I mean). Sure, maybe it's just biased opinion, but I have to respect my instincts on the subject. Anyway, it's just a matter of being judicious in my approach. That's not that out of character for me. And I can (and do) mix and match my photo tools and materials.
Speaking of mixing and matching...I made a couple more cyanotypes today! pats myself on the back They're flattening right now and I'll make proper photos of them tomorrow (they don't fit in the scanner). But following the Holga images below (SF and Avery at home) will be a couple phone pics of the pieces. They're rather ordinary, but I'm happy to simply be practicing.
Hot hot hot here today. It's good to stay inside and do creative stuff.
