It doesn't take me long to settle back in to life as I know it, after a trip out west. There's a little longing on my departure from being with family, that's always the case. But then I get grounded in the garden, and grocery shopping, and thoughts about what I want to cook. It's a good way to practice gratitude.
Today I was out getting a couple garden related items. I stopped at SubRosa for some bread and a treat (and, an iced coffee because it sounded really good). Lastly, I checked out the restaurant supply store. I needed a few items, which they had at good prices. Why I haven't been here before is beyond me.
Now I'm home, staying in the cool air downstairs. Hot and humid is the weather theme for today. While there are things I want to do in the garden, they can wait until a time I won't totally wilt. Instead I can be in the shade of the porch and shake all the poppy seeds from their pods that I've collected. There are also a couple rolls of black and white film to process. A nap may come first, though...I woke up super early and decided to start the day before sunrise. I like doing that, but about this time after running around in the heat, a lie down under a fan sounds like a great idea.
