summer morning

I woke up a few times early this morning, starting around 3:15 I think.  I didn't stay awake, but by the third time (with dreams in between!) it was around 6.  I decided to get up.  At that time anyway, I felt rested (maybe not so much now).  The light was lovely, as it is at that hour, the sun at a still low angle.  Seeing the sunshine through the leaves and petals of the sunflowers was delightful.  And that long view of the garden, so green, lush and soft...mmm.

At 10:30 it was getting pretty hot.  Avery had a short walk and now we're inside in the cool.  Summer.
