who's a good dog??

I was going to write about something else...about my musings on being a highly sensitive person (wrt neurodivergence).  I took a couple photos to illustrate my thoughts.  Then Avery was just there...not begging but begging to have her picture taken.  These are much more fun than the alternate images.  I mean, I still may write about that other subject some time, but Avery deserves a little photoshoot exposure all on her own.

She's such a good dog.  She's never demanding, not too barky, pretty chill most of the time.  She may not be the most cuddly canine around, but maybe I'm not the most cuddly human either.  All in all, we're a good fit.  

This week has been more boring than usual around here.  Even our time in the garden has been rather limited.  With weather and health issues combined, we've done a lot of laying around.  Fortunately, she doesn't seem to have a problem with that.

I'm happy to have felt motivated enough (i.e. enough energy) to make another handful of prints today.  The abstracts are fun to work with and I hope to be making more of those.  This is going to require continued experimentation.  I have a huge problem with noting  down my processes, though, and tend to wing my way through the work.  For consistency, I realize that's a big no-no.  But I'd rather just do the work and accept that my wiring doesn't like being methodical (yet), rather than not doing anything because I'm not "doing it right."

On the Covid front...I'm not feeling bad, actually.  Still a bit tired, but not unusually so (I mean, I feel like I'm always tired).  Not much of a cough and no headache or sore throat.  However, I'm all sneezy now.  Weird.  It's just me and Avery with no place to go, so it's all good.  

I am noticing, however, the sense of isolation growing again.  Hopefully in another couple/few days I'll be good to reenter civilization.

Honestly, I don't feel bad.  Sore/scratchy throat is gone, cough barely there, no headache, slight back ache (but I've just been laying around)...main symptom at this point is fatigue.  Last night I had difficulty falling asleep because my mind was thinking about all the things I feel almost good enough to do again.  When I woke up this morning, that motivation was gone.  I've felt better (more energy) as the day has progressed, but not yet enough to actually do anything much.  I did pick veggies from the garden and fixed some of the fishing line that had broken on the "deer barrier".  Oh, and I did go ahead with my counseling appointment, albeit via Zoom.  

I can't believe it's already mid-afternoon.  Maybe I'll try to nap...or at least recline and read.  I'm not sure what dinner will be tonight.  I've done a good job of feeding and taking care of myself.  Huh...that's something I just thought of now...  In the past when I've had a bad cold or flu, I wouldn't even bother to take a shower or get out of bed much.  I haven't felt that poorly at all with this thing.  Am I just more stubborn than I used to be?  I think it simply means I haven't had much of a fever with this.  I'm grateful.

Here are some close ups of an experimental wet cyanotype I made last time I printed.  It's just for fun.  What I like, though, is in doing the fun experiments it gives me ideas for future work.

I started the day feeling a bit more energy and decided to clean my tub before having a shower this morning.  While in the shower I started thinking..."oh, it'd be great to go through my closet and get rid of at least a third of the stuff in there, since I never wear it" and "oh, yeah, more wet cyanotypes since the paper is ready and I've got these *ideas*"!  By the time I was dressed and had tea and breakfast, I was sitting on the couch thinking, "maybe I can just lay down a bit..."  

Nope, energy isn't back.  The mind is willing but the body is saying, nope nope.  Whatever this virus is, it's a sneaky stinker.  

Still, I felt very drawn to do something creative.  Ah, the beauty of digital.  Ah, the willingness of the garden to be there at my convenience...

Home tests negative for Covid. Waiting on a PCR result in a day or three.
