I must go walk...or even just stand...in the garden, multiple times a day. Part of that is to remain connected, making sure "everyone" is taken care of. Part of that is to just feel my being-ness among the life. I can stand for a few minutes, not really thinking anything, just looking around and taking it all in. What a blessing to have that opportunity!
It's hot today and there's some wiltiness going on with the plants. I know they'll recover once the shade hits them again. While I often lament about not having "full sun" in the garden, given the climate here in central Virginia, it's really an advantage. Afternoon sun can be brutal and there's a bit of respite from the very tall tree shadows.
If we don't get any appreciable rain tomorrow, watering will be in order. In addition, today is the hottest day for the next few, so that's a good thing.
a sweet little harvest of beets and carrots
arugula blossoms before I removed the plants from the bed...other blossoms have come online and the remaining plants here needed the space to open up.
