I think this is the third (maybe fourth) day with little to no sun. The area feels like it must be approaching adequate rehydration by now. We were in draught conditions as of a week or two ago (I think?). These past few days, however, we've certainly gotten significant precipitation.
Of course, that means I've not been working in the garden much. That is, if you don't count the times I've gone out between the rainfall to prop up ever floppy plants. Thankfully there was wind only one of these recent stormy days. Oh, and while I was out puttering I noticed some little critter had finally discovered the beets and carrots. At that point, it seemed like a good idea to harvest most of that bed. It was a pretty good haul I must say. Well, for me anyway, it's the largest picking of root veggies I've done in this garden. There were also enough cucumbers to make a small jar of brined dill pickles, which makes me happy.
After this morning's downpours I took Avery for her walk. All the streams were running, which is pretty delightful. We got back and I had lunch, figuring I might go run an errand and maybe visit the VMFA afterward. But another storm rolled in with more heavy rain. It's letting up now, but I can't decide if I want to go out anymore...maybe I'll cook instead...
