I spent a couple of very uncomfortable hours in the garden this morning. There's a forecast for severe storms this afternoon and there were a few things I really wanted to get done outside beforehand. It's so very humid...and it's hot...and mainly it feels so hot because it's so humid. Add to that I didn't really feel like slathering myself in bug repellent so I wore long pants and a short sleeved shirt. It felt incredibly good to come inside and take a shower when I finished.
You know, work in the garden is never finished. Everything is alive so, nothing alive finishes, until it's not alive any more. Sometimes plateaus are reached and the tasks settle down a bit, but that doesn't last for long. This is by no means a complaint. Working in the garden is a creative, collaborative (with the plants) effort so despite the energy output there's a lot of joy.
And now...I'm going to take a break with a book maybe...unless I fall asleep reading which is quite possible at this point.
