This is the first year since I've lived with this garden, when I've gotten a decent little harvest of St. John's wort. The herb really seems to like the container I planted it in, which is on the side of my house. There are also a couple other plants I put in out in the main garden, which are also doing well. Still, it's not like I can harvest a couple quart's worth of flowers at a time. It's usually just a cup at most. I'm putting it in the oil as I go, adding to the jar as the blossoms are harvested and wilted overnight. Maybe that's not the right way to do it, but it's the best method considering my circumstances. I've done it before as well, so I know the results are fine.
