Sure, why not! These were made at the VMFA last month...Zero69 with Kentmere400 film developed in Ilfosol3.
I'm diggin' the film again. Well, I always do but can go long stretches not working with it. It would be much better if it hadn't gotten so expensive. That just means I practice more mindfulness using it...I guess?
Anyway...it's a lovely spring day and I think I'll be spending it out doors in the garden...
Pinhole day is just one month away! What better time to get back into the genre. Truly, though, was I ever "out" of it? As I get myself back into being excited about processing film (sad to say, not one of my fave parts of the process), I look forward to using my Zero camera more.
This morning I wanted to use up the roll of film that was in the camera and these were some of the images...

The garden has gotten another good soaking. There were a few thunderstorms yesterday during the afternoon and evening. This morning is still overcast, cool and breezy. But the moisture on the ground and plants only make spring emergences sweeter.
I was excited to process some film yesterday. The roll had sat for about a month and I finally got myself in a space to get to it. Unfortunately, I was thinking ahead about many other things I'm working on...and opened the door to my film loading closet before I had the top on. Big AARRRGH! Just goes to show, paying attention is worth the effort.
The film wasn't totally ruined. I suppose the light leaks add a certain...ambiance? Still, I think about how much better the images might have been. That being said, most of what's on the roll is easily reshot.
It's rainy and gray today. I had an appointment earlier and am glad to be back inside. The lightening and thunder were rather exciting...for me, not so much for Avery. According to the forecast the sun will return sometime later tomorrow.
Nature waking up...
It wasn't super cold this morning. It was rainy, gray and cool though. One more fire for the season seemed like a good idea. The winter was fairly mild (yet again) so I didn't even get all the way through my wood (which isn't a bad thing in some regards). Perhaps I'll just use what I have inside and then clean everything up. This was a good way to spend some time on a Saturday morning.

It's been a while since I've made paper cyanotypes. While sensitizing fabric for the Baba Yaga hut hangings, there was solution leftover. I decided to coat some paper. Have to admit, I wasn't feeling terribly creative, but the idea of using the stencils I'd made for flags to design a print sounded fun. And I like these! Sometimes going through the motions will generate new ideas or take me in a direction, which is always a good thing. I'm considering using watercolor on one of these...but I don't know yet.
(yes, these are almost identical, with only a stencil placement difference between them)
Releasing Marzanna and the winter. Traditionally the effigy may just be drowned, or burned and drowned. Because I don't want to throw anything into the river (even natural materials) I opted for release by fire alone. Hello spring!
It's been months since I had the lawn mower out. But today was the day. Mostly I was sucking up the last of the dry leaves and weed spikes. Still, it feels good to have it done. In addition, it was a delight to be surrounded by all the little narcissi (?) that have popped. The naturalized bulbs all opened first, now followed by different cultivated bulbs with tulips being last (which haven't opened yet). After that, it's a while before any summer bulbs bloom.
The temperatures are warm but the sky is cloudy with spotty showers at this time. I'm glad I got out in the morning to do my work.
