I finally finished editing all the digital photos from my trip to Poland. There are still 7 rolls of film to process and scan, but I'll take my time with those. Honestly, I think I didn't realize just how many pictures I took. Towards the end I was really getting tired of many of them, haha! A fair number of the photos in the album I made are there to be a reference for other artwork...it just makes them easier to access.
So now...back to life in Richmond (not that I haven't already been in that mode). That being said, life in Richmond still entails some processing of this trip, and how it relates to other stuff in my life (on an internal level that is). But I'm ready to be grounded...despite the images below.

I think my jet lag has pretty much abated. It's hard to tell because the weather's been warm and that makes me tired! But my sleep has been remarkably good ever since I returned (actually it was pretty good while I was gone too). An added benefit from all that is I'm getting up earlier...kind of a necessity in the warm months.
Today I mowed the lawns. It's been nearly three weeks since that was done. Honestly, it wasn't that unsightly, but still needed doing. I worked for a while on adding more photos to the Poland album on Flickr. There is now a ridiculous number of photos from the ethnographic museum in Krakow in there. It was my intention to have a place I could easily access for reference...but it might not be of interest to everyone.
The weather is supposed to get drier and cooler over the next few days. I'm down with that!!

Working my way through more Instax minis from Poland. Here are a few and the rest will be in this album on Flickr.

I decided to not take my Lomo'Instant wide with me on the trip. It's heavy. But, I couldn't resist taking the camera for the mini film. It's a lot easy to carry around, especially considering the number of cameras I had in my bag! The problem with this little one, is that it has not auto setting for exposure and some situations are very difficult to judge. Still, I came back with a sweet little collection, that I may put into a special book (using photo corners).
Here's a selection of the the ones I scanned today (but to see all of them you can go to the Flickr album and scroll through).

I brought so many photos home from Poland. I used four different cameras, not counting my phone. All that being the case, I'm going to be posting them bit by bit. There's an album on my Flickr that'll house all of them (over time).
In the meanwhile...my journey started like this...Dulles to Copenhagen, then Copenhagen to Warsaw.

I’ve been in Poland for about five days, have seen 2 large cities and 1 small rural town, visited with relatives never before met, seen ancestral lands, eaten way too much food and viewed more art than I’ve seen in a very long time. And so much history. Honestly, it’s going to take a while to process upon return home.
On Sunday we head down to Zakopane for a couple days before we go back up to Warsaw. A couple days after that it’ll be back home.
This trip has certainly been profound for me on many levels. I’m so grateful for this opportunity (and to be doing it with family members).
This evening I’m tired after walking 10 miles through Old Town Krakow, seeing various exhibits and sights. I have a lot of photos on multiple formats, but the iPhone does come in handy when I don’t want to juggle more cameras.
